Fall 2018 CLUB SELECTIONS (November 2018 Release)

*Selections will vary depending on your club preference of Reds-Only or Reds & Whites Mixed.

2014 Zinfandel, Estate Vineyard

Deep, dark color, intense aromas and concentrated flavors of black plum, ripe blueberry and huckleberry with notes of brown sugar and elegant vanilla toast. A beautiful, soft entry of warm blackberry and lush plum compote is deftly balanced by ever-present structure and lingering finish. Soft and supple yet powerful, this Zinfandel is delightful on its own or the perfect accompaniment to character-rich dishes such as grilled herb pork loin, lamb tagine and Cioppino

2015 Zinfandel, Quercus Alba

Lighter in color than previous vintages but no less intensely aromatic, this is a compellingly complex expression of our estate Zinfandel. Highlighting its aging in 100% American Oak, this Zin boasts bold notes of vanilla, caraway, and warm cedar mingled with tart raspberry, wine-poached pears, and a pinch of white pepper. Concentrated flavors of bright red plums with spicy anise and licorice with a dusting of tannin belie the supple body and ample acidity that refreshes the palate.

2013 Zinfandel, Gundlach Bundschu Winery

Although 39 year-old vines are considered relatively young by Sonoma standards for Zinfandel, the 2013 Zinfandel lacks nothing in the varietal’s hallmark fruit-driven richness and depth, yet in the balanced, layered, and food-friendly style one expects from six generations of winemaking. Intense and comforting aromas of mixed red fruits, blueberries, and plum, brown sugar spiced with vanilla bean, and warm, toasty cedar waft to the nose like fresh pie out of the oven. The medium-weight of the lush and bold palate is kept fresh and alive by surprisingly vibrant acidity and flavors of clove-lead baking spices, dark berries, dried lavender, and cocoa that continue into a creamy, extended finish that lingers on the taste buds like memories of that first profound bite of grandma’s warm, homemade pie.

2016 Chardonnay, Gundlach Bundschu Winery

For generations, the Bundschus have grown amazing quality Chardonnay and it appears the world has noticed since we can’t seem to make enough anymore. The 2016 embodies our signature restrained style: fruit and texture in balance with bright acidity. Fresh lemon, citrus blossom, and green apple aromas with a hint of brioche. A lush palate of white nectarines, honeydew melon, and citrus zest vibrates with minerally acidity that carries into a surprisingly creamy finish.
